CODE PINK CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

March 9 @ 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Understanding the Challenges  /  Renewing our Commitment

  Saturday, March 9th   – 5:30 – 9:00

Begins at 5:30 with a potluck supper;  Program begins at 6:45
Lyman Hall at First Churches, Northampton
At the corner of Center & Main Street   (Center Street Entrance)

Listen to a segment of Democracy Now as Amy Goodman interviews leaders of the Women’s March about the documentary “This is Personal” featuring Linda Sarsour (M-Power), Tamika Mallory (Black Lives Matter) and Nancy Kaufman (CEO National Council of Jewish Women).  They dissect some of the complex issues of the January, 2019 Women’s March, issues that were additionally complicated by media ‘clickbait’ rather than realistic news and analysis of the issues.

Following this 30 minute segment, we’ll have a facilitated discussion of how this split mirrors those of our larger society and how we can protect the Women’s Movement from becoming splintered, from within, as well as by attacks from ‘outside’.
