Reparations Campaign Kickoff

Join the Western Mass chapter of SURJ (Showing Up for Racial Justice) as we launch a local reparations campaign, intended to educate people about the need for reparations and wealth redistribution. ***Scroll down for accessibility notes.***
At this event, you will have the opportunity to:
–Learn about reparations at a national and local level
–Work through thoughts and questions you may have
–Commit to joining a movement to redistribute wealth for racial justice

Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) believes in collective liberation and that none of us can be free until we end white supremacy. Our role as a part of a multi-racial, cross-class movement led by communities of color is to undermine white support for white supremacy. The Northampton Center for the Arts is an accessible space. Free parking is available in the lot to the left of the building at 33 Hawley St, and attendees can enter through the lower side door. The event and bathrooms are all on the first floor and there are no steps. The building was recently renovated, and there are some new materials in the event space.
