Spring into Abolition Festival!

April 11 @ 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm

The uprising in defense of Black Lives last summer demanded a radical reimagining of public safety—one that divests from violent and racist policing and invests in community initiatives for helping, healing, and sustaining people. A growing number of cities across the United States are transforming their municipal budgets to reduce their reliance on police and move towards meeting the real needs of people in their communities.
Here in Northampton, Mayor Narkewicz will present his proposed budget by May 18th, one week before the first anniversary of the murder of George Floyd by police. We have a historic opportunity, right now, to win a concrete local victory in defense of Black Lives by divesting from policing and investing in a bold new vision of community safety in Northampton.
Join us! Come celebrate spring in community, deepen your analysis, and make connections!
