The International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons, held on September 26th 2019, provides a unique opportunity to analyze our society’s harmful relationship with nuclear weapons, the existential threat they pose, and what we can do to advocate for a safer world. In this spirit, the Resistance Center for Peace and Justice will hold an educational event on the University of Massachusetts Amherst campus meant to engage young people on this critical issue. The event will feature speakers tackling different areas of nuclear disarmament, including an international conversation with Latin American activists and a Q/A session with the speakers. All are welcome to attend, with college and high school students especially encouraged.
