The perfect combination comes together at Shazam! Arts in Resistance featuring performances by Ben Grosscup (also the Master of Ceremonies), Pamela Means, Blackappella, Maya Apfelbaum, and Court Dorsey. During the intermission we will feature an art exhibit by local artists, including Erin Long, Bruce Hawkins, Cara Moser, Maggie Nowinski, J. Andrew World, and others. Retired Colonel and diplomat Ann Wright will be speaking on the night of Monday, May 7th about her upcoming trip on May 15 with the Freedom Flotilla Coalition - a nonviolent, international effort to break the blockade of Gaza. Four boats will begin their 75 day voyage from Scandinavia before going into the Mediterranean where they will make another 5 port visits--all as educational events to talk about the horrific conditions in Gaza. Rise Up for Irida: A Musical Revue is a cabaret-style performance by Rise Up Productions of music from “Hamilton,” “Dear Evan Hansen” and “Rent.” Proceeds support Irida Kakhtiranova, an immigrant who has been in sanctuary  in Northampton since April as she fights deportation and family separation. $25 supporters; $10 students. Wine, beer and homemade goodies available by donation.
